Shortly after I read a post entitled, “Which Will Be Imploded First, Excalibur or Luxor?” I found a major announcement from MGM mangement saying they will be completely renovating the Luxor.  This is absolutely great news for the troubled casino/resort.  Listen to some of the things they will be adding:

• LAX NightClub – Featuring the likes of Celebrities Christina Aguilera, DJ AM, Wilmer Valderrama, Nick Lachey and Nicky Hilton who will join forces with Pure Management Group in this joint effort.
• Criss Angel + Cirque De Soiel : Team up to create an awesome new illusion show in a custom built theater envisioned by Angel himself!
• Aurora – Luxor unveiled the new era with Aurora, an inviting 157-seat lounge that brings the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, to life with a dynamic landscape designed by Japanese design firm Super Potato.
• Updated Pool Lounge Area
• Renovated Rooms, Restaurants, Bars  & Casino Floor.

According to CNN, the Luxor should see these $300 million in improvements by 2009.  The original hotel cost a reported $326million to make in 1993.  Interesting to see how the time value of money changes!

 But, don’t wait for the renovations visit the Luxor now!

According to this news article there is a new luxury 5-star hotel set to open across the street from the Wynn Hotel and Resort. The 13-acre hotel and condo property will cost the real estate developer Peebles 2.5Billion Dollars and is expected to be ready by 2009. You can rest assured that we will provide an extensive review upon its grand opening. The focus of the hotel is to serve the needs of the nearly 50% of visitors to Las Vegas who don’t intend on gambling but instead come for the luxurious comforts of hotels, spa, golf and fine dining.
